If it’s your first escape room, you’ll be given a briefing before starting and everything you need to understand the challenge. You’ll then work together to find clues, solve puzzles and complete your mission within the time limit. No previous escape room experience is needed, and help is available if you get stuck. The Escapologist at Xscape Castleford offers several different themes, so first-time players can choose an experience that appeals to them.
The escape rooms at The Escapologist Castleford are designed for different group sizes. Current rooms accommodate between two and seven players, depending on the experience chosen. Operation Slimeworth can accommodate up to seven, while other rooms have maximum capacities of five or six. If you are visiting with a larger group, it may be possible to book multiple rooms or discuss alternative arrangements with the venue.
Several escape rooms at Xscape Castleford can be suitable for families and younger players, although suitability will depend on the theme and ages involved. Some experiences may have darker or more intense themes than others. Players aged 13 and under must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian, while players aged 14 to 16 require a parent or guardian to remain on the premises.
